I'm wondering because these books are pretty pricey. I know there's the DC Archives route, but those also can get a little pricey. I just really wanted to read these particular stories and was hoping there might be a cheaper alternative.

Thanks for any help! Big Grin

is reprinted in

Crisis on Multiple Earths: The Team-Ups Volume One is a 2005 TPB collection. Offering a full-color reprint of GL #40 (and eight other prime DC silver-age stories), originally priced at $15, this one hits (IMO) the sweet spot between high-end Archives reprints and low-end Showcase Presents reprints.

This may be out of print by now, but is readily available from Internet-based book and comics sellers.

Yeah, I picked this up at the library because I wanted to read the precursor to Crisis of Infinite Earths, which I really enjoyed. But man, I just can't read a lot of silver age stuff, especially from DC. It's just so campy and geared towards tweens of the day. I got through half of the second issue of the story and couldn't finish it. It was just too ridiculous for me. The art is flat and generic as was most of the comics of the day and the the fact that every sentence ends in an exclamation point is distracting to me. Does everyone always have to be excited about what they're saying?

But hey, that's just me. Instead, I recommend reading Grant Morrison's JLA: Earth Two if you haven't already.
