SuperHero Showdown 1 – Fight 30
(Round 10, Fight 3)

Hello again everyone. Tonight we make our final visit to the Incan City of Machu Picchu, Ghost's choice for the Fight 30 Environment.

The Round 10 closer features a couple of real Powerhouses. Justifier's manager Burning Doom plays the Multiverse card on Firestorm, summoning the Fire Elemental with Martin Stein in control of the Matrix. At the other end of town, Beta Ray Bill makes his 3rd tournament appearance for Ghost's Vindicators.

Better seek shelter people...

(click on the images to navigate to the bio links)

Visiting Team: The Justifiers
Manager: Burning Doom (4–0-1–1–2 )
Fighter: Firestorm Fire Elemental (Martin Stein)

VS.

Home Team: The Vindicators
Manager: Ghost (3–0-1–0–3)
Fighter: Beta Ray Bill

Environment: Machu Picchu

You and your opponent are deposited among the ruins and excavations of Machu Picchu in Peru. Fighters arrive at opposited ends of the environment. Anything within the white area in the map above is in play; anything in the tan and green areas is out of bounds(If you need clarification, please ask).

-----------------------------------------------

* The winner merely has to subdue his/her opponent. It is not a fight to the death. Wrapping somebody up, possessing them, kill your opponent, knock them out, render them incapable of fighting anymore and so on all count as victory. All a character has to do is prevent their opponent from being able to continue the fight. A fighter forced out of the environment is not considered subdued. However a fighter who himself teleports away from a fight or flees in any manner is considered defeated.

* Where do fights begin?
a.) fighters begin the battle entering at opposite ends of the environment. (In a confined environment with only one entrance it will be assumed that they are transported to opposite ends of the area)
b. fights last for 24 hours
c.) fighters are fully aware that they are involved in a fight with their opponent.
d.) fighters then seek each other out. In a cell that is not so much a problem. In an open area it becomes a bit more difficult.
* The power(s) that a character takes into a fight are their current powers unless stated otherwise in the fight listings.

-----------------------------------------------

As a reminder, here are the voting rules:

* Anybody can vote (competitors, spectators, etc.)
* CCL'ers are permitted to vote once per fight (including team managers.) If you have multiple CCL accounts, you may only vote from one of those accounts. To ensure fairness, multiple CCL users that live under the same roof should designate one person as the voter. This eliminates the possibility of "block" voting. (Ask us for clarification, if this is unclear to you.)
* Please consider all logical factors when voting (environment, rationales, current power levels.)
* Feel free to comment on why you voted the way you did, or why you disagree/agree with somebody else’s rationale.
* It is a good rule of thumb to hear from both managers before voting. All votes are final, even if you accidentally push the wrong button!
* While we invite and encourage all CCL members to participate in the tournament, we do ask that new members refrain from voting the first day they sign up for CCL. The intent of this rule is to discourage people from turning the game into a popularity contest by signing up just to vote in a friend’s fight.

* The SuperHero Showdown Forum is a sub-section of the Comic Collector Live Forums and as such is subject to the forum rules and terms of service. Violations of the voting rules, particularly those relating to fairness and good sportsmanship are subject to disciplinary action in the same manner as violations of any other forum rules. These actions can range from warnings up to and including suspension from the forums. Actions taken in response to violations will be determined on a case by case basis after an evaluation of the circumstances and the severity of the violation.

As the Fire Elemental, Martin Stein has full control over the Firestorm Matrix still. And Professor Martin Stein is in the driver's seat. Meaning that egghead of his is behind all those molecular and chemical compositions he is creating with the Firestorm Matrix.

Quote:
Density Control - Elements tied to the Firestorm Matrix have complete control over molecules and as such can change the density of solids, liquids and gases to as light as hydrogen or as heavy as uranium.

Eidetic Memory - Also called "Matrix Memory Recall", elements tied to the Firestorm Matrix can access the memories of each and every single being that has ever been fused into the Matrix. New elements are allowed to automatically download surface information.

Energy Absorbtion - Elements tied to the Firestorm Matrix can absorb massive amounts of energy as well as being able to absorb many different types of energy. Most commonly the elements and energies associate with life and the human body are absorbed. Also solar energy is a possible source of energy that can work as a "emergency battery" for elements out of power.

Energy Projection - Elements tied to the Firestorm Matrix can project massive amounts of different amount of energies. Naturally occurring energy projected by Firestorm are "Nuclear Blasts" however elements can project a number of different energies at will.

Enhanced Vision - Also called "Quark Vision", elements tied to the Firestorm Matrix have access to enhanced vision due to their nuclear nature. Different visions experienced are X-Ray Vision, Microscopic Vision, and Thermal Vision.

Flight - Elements tied to the Firestorm Matrix can soar through the sky at amazing speeds. At first it may be difficult to achieve flight through Firestorm's nuclear nature though most master it quickly. Firestorms have been clocked at over 600mph theoretically they can fly much faster.

Molecular Reconstruction - Elements tied together into the Firestorm Matrix to create Firestorm have one main ability which all other stem from. Their "atomic fusion" or "nuclear nature" stem from nuclear physics tempering with the user's mixture of psychic energies as well as physical properties. Users accessing Firestorm or the Firestorm Matrix are called "elements" as they individually make up the Matrix. Firestorms can break down and reapply subatomic particles as well as break up the molecular structure of elements and rearrange them. To do this the element must know the exact elemental make-up of the object or human. Most Firestorms cannot affect living tissue but it is possible though very unstable.

Phasing - Elements tied to the Firestorm Matrix can phase their bodies through solid objects. Although they have direct control over an object's density they can use this ability on themselves and only themselves and affect living tissue to pass through objects.

Psychic Link - Sometimes called "floating heads", elements that embody the Firestorm Matrix appear mostly as floating heads to represent their psychic link to the other human being or other element in the Matrix. They can be represented however they'd like but the Matrix defaults them to a disembodied head. Even disconnected an element may have latent psychic traces of the previous user.

Regeneration - Though a majorly untested power as well as being as much a reaction from shape-shifting and a direct result of molecular reconstruction; nonetheless, Firestorm elements can regenerate large sections of misplaced or destroyed physical properties.

Self-Sustenance - Elements tied to the Firestorm Matrix can survive in space unaided, never need to eat to sustain life and never truly need another element to be processed or broken down by their bodies. Although users may feel these needs and would enjoy producing such bodily functions it is unnecessary.

Superhuman Durability - Elements tied to the Firestorm Matrix receive an increased amount of physical resistance and durability. They can survive bullets and stab wounds as well as the physical damage of exploding constantly.

Superhuman Strength - Elements tied to the Firestorm Matrix receive an increased amount of physical strength and muscle mass. Certain elements can tap into this energy and become large hulking entities however such strength can be quite destructive to the host if not used sparingly.
• Transformation - Elements tied to the Firestorm Matrix can transform from their "normal" human forms into Firestorm, the Nuclear Man. However other entities may take whatever form they want; such as, Black Lantern Firestorm and Fury. Furthermore, elements can transform their body or body parts at will with concentration with an unknown level of restraint.

In addition to the vast powers of the Firestorm Matrix, Stein also is a Fire Elemental. Meaning he has God-like powers including full control, manipulation, and manifestation of fire and heat on the Planet Earth down to a molecular level. He also has powers such as gravity manipulation, instant teleportation, environmental awareness, and the ability to grow to massively large proportions.

As much as Beta Ray Bill is above a normal man, The Fire Elemental Firestorm is above Beta Ray Bill. It would be like Beta Ray Bill fighting Odin. He's completely out of his league here and has absolutely zero chance of winning this battle, especially on the Planet Earth where Stein's Fire Elemental abilities are at their most powerful.

Here's a picture of Surtur, a fire demon (not even as powerful as the physical manifestation of fire that is Elemental Firestorm) just demolishing Thor with one mighty blow:

This doesn't look good for Bill.It better be a grand slam rationale to win this.

New environments are up. The National Museum of Natural History replaces Machu Picchu.

Initial though is that Firestorm could absorb anything that Bill throws at him.

I remember the comics where Firestorm first became the elemental. He was pretty unstopable.

Doom shows Thor getting pounded by Surtur. Well, This is from the Marvel Wiki...

"The Burning Galaxy was destroyed through the machinations of Surtur. The surviving Korbinites decided to choose a champion who they would follow to their new home. the Korbinite known as Beta Ray Bill was successful and was transformed into a cybernetic being resembling a fierce creature. The Korbinites then amassed their fleet, put themselves into stasis, and followed Beta's ship, Skuttlebutt. Bill fought legions of demons sent by Surtur."

Beta Ray fought and defeated Surtur's demons BEFORE receiving Stormbreaker which is pretty darn impressive. He also beat Thor before owning that hammer so lets make it clear that Beta Ray Bill is no push over against Firestorm.

Lets look at Bill's powers.

■Superhuman Strength: Bill is phenomenally strong. He was capable of matching Thor pound per pound in their first encounter as foes to a certain extent. Therefore, Bill can lift in excess of 100 tons effortlessly. Bill has enough strength to crush entire moons with his fists, and shatter entire planets with the force of his blows.

■Superhuman Speed: He is capable of running and moving at speeds greater than even the finest human athlete. With Stormbreaker, he can fly at speeds faster than light.

■Superhuman Stamina: Bill has superhuman stamina which can allow him to function at full capacity for many days at a time without tiring at the very least. In hot climates, his stamina is limitless.

■Superhuman Reflexes: His reaction time is superior to the finest human athlete and most superhumans.

■Superhumanly Dense Tissue: As a Korbinite his skin, muscle, and bone tissues had 3 times the density than the same tissue of a human being. This contributed, to his superhuman weight. He is immune to penetration wounds, tremendous impacts, and falls from great heights.

■Superhuman Durability: Bill's body is far more resistant to physical injury than the body of an ordinary human. He is capable of withstanding great impact forces, temperature and pressure extremes, surviving in the heart of a Sun without even a slight discomfort, and even survive at point blank range, powerful energy blasts capable of destroying entire planets without any visible physical injury.

■Regenerative Healing Factor: If injured, his body can heal itself with superhuman levels of speed and efficiency. However, he cannot regenerate missing limbs or organs.

■Extended Longevity: In his cyborg body, he is immune to the effects of aging making him effectively immortal. When he was in the body of Simon Walters, he was the same as a mortal.

Strength level:

Class 100+ ; Able to lift well over 100 tons. Bill possesses enough strength to shatter entire planets and so on.

Equipment:
Armor of Asgardian design, including a helmet.

Weapons:
■Stormbreaker, a hammer similar to Mjolnir. Bill can use it to fly, manipulate weather, absorb and channel various energies, teleport, and sense various energies.

Okay. Now we see what Beta Ray can do. What you are forgetting is that Firestorm has never faced Beta Ray before nor has he faced Asgardian magic so you are assuming Firestorm's powers will affect him as they would a human or another DC metahuman.
Bill's armor is also made of Asgardian magic and technology. He has super healing which keeps him in the fight for days.

His hammer allows him to fly at the speed of light so how is Firestorm going to avoid being hit that fast?

Oh, Beta Ray Bill can destroy moons by just using his FISTS! Firestorm is no moon, he's a dead man.

Beta Ray Bill controls the weather. If Firestorm is an elemental and Bill can manipulate the elements then that is a major weakness for Stormy.

Stormbreaker can create a strong force field around Bill to defend Firestorm's attacks and at the same time, call down the lightning which hits the entire area including Firestorm.

Remember, Beta Ray Bill has fought battles with nearly impossible odds but has come out on top. He's beaten heralds of Galactus and has gone up against Galactus himself. He is capable of destroying moons and planets with one blow of Stormbreaker. Laying waste to this area WITH Firestorm along with it is a great possibility.

Beta Ray Bill can withstand massive amounts of energy attacks. He can survive being in the heart of a sun, for Pete's sake! He'll survive anything Firstorm can throw at him.

Here is one pic of Beta Ray Bill protecting himself with a powerful force field as he's under a massive energy attack.

Bill has the strength to lift entire mountains. Look at that big mountain there at Macchu Picchu. Hmm...

You guys need to remember that Firestorm has never seen someone like Beta Ray Bill. He's never faced Stormbreaker made by Asgardian magic. Bill would see Firestorm similar to heralds of Galactus like Stardust and others he's defeated. Bill would spin his hammer to create lightning and extremely dangerously high winds knocking Firestorm around and blowing him out like a candle.

So, think for a moment and look at the pics in the link I provided, voters and ESPECIALLY those voting strategically. You know and can see the kind of power Beta Ray has so vote logically. Cool

Heat is far from his only weapon here. But just to be clear, this isn't the Human Torch we're talking about here, we're talking about the living embodiment of the elemental forces of fire and heat.

Elemental Firestorm could simply hold Beta Ray Bill in a gravity field. He could grow to the size of a Celestial and swat him down like a fly. Or he could turn Beta Ray Bill's precious Stormbreaker into a pile of daisies using the Firestorm Matrix powers, and leaving Beta Ray Bill in his "normal" state.

Strength and a hammer mean very little to a godly being like this. He can give himself unlimited strength or call 10x the amount of energy from the Earth than Beta Ray Bill can call from the heavens.

Any attack Beta Ray Bill launches at Elemental Firestorm is EASILY avoided by going tangible or just instantly teleporting away to another location on the battlefield. And he has environmental awareness. It's gonna be VERY easy for Elemental Firestorm to know exactly where Beta Ray Bill is and what he's doing, which makes it VERY easy to avoid his attacks.

Beta Ray Bill is simply out of his league here.

I agree with most of what you say here, except this. Stormbreaker is magical. I doubt that Firestorms powers could easily affect it.

Beta Ray Bill thrives on heat. He can also control the elements.

How easy is it going to be to contain Beta Ray? You act like this guy is a pansy and obviously haven't look at the pics of Bill in action.

Doom, Beta Ray has taken down Galactus so it doesn't matter how big you think Firestorm can get. Beta Ray can take him down.

You are also claiming Firestorm is a god and Bill is just a normal guy. Umm...Odin created Stormbreaker. Odin is a god, Thor is a god, Beta Ray Bill is as strong as Thor if not stronger so he is a god himself.

You are also trying to make people believe that Firestorm's powers would affect Stormbreaker (created by Odin with Asgardian magic) as easily as it would Joe Blow. Stormbreaker and its wielder is much, much stronger than you are trying to make people believe.

Beta Ray can take some massive punishment for days before tiring, dude. He can manipulate the weather and CRUSH MOONS WITH HIS BARE HANDS! Sorry but Firestorm is outmatched here.

Firestorm is not a god. He hasn't fought a cosmic warrior like Beta Ray Bill and he has no idea how to fight a god who has destroyed planets. No, Firestorm is out of his league here.

Doom, when has Firestorm ever grown to the size of a Celestial? I'm assuming you have pics of this? As I've said, Bill has taken down giants before. Beta Ray Bill is a warrior with a military history. He's a world breaker and Firestorm is not.

An interesting thing about Firestorm...he cannot affect organic matter without painful, even lethal, feedback. So, even IF he could affect Stormbreaker (which he cannot), it would be dangerous for Firestorm to do so.

See here, Doom? Beta Ray Bill has taken down giants before. Galactus is a force of nature and Bill is powerful enough to stop him. Galactus consumes planets which is something Firestorm is not capable of doing. If you think Firestorm can turn into a giant and squash Bill, you've got another thing coming.

The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Galactus is so damaged that he has to call upon his herald known as Stardust. In that link, you'll see that Beta Ray Bill totally defeats Stardust as well.
