Well, was he? Did he destroy the GL Corps as Parallax?
If he wasn't, then why was Kyle Rayner ever a GL to begin with? And if he was, then did his time as The Spectre and GL Rebirth happen as well? Did he sacrifice himself to save The Earth in Final Night?

I don't know about Final Night or the Spectre era, but I believe most of the Hal Jordan as Parralax is still in tact - too much of the current "continuity" depends on it.

Was pointed to this link on another board, I'll just quote it all here:

Yes
Quote:
"However, stating specifically that the Batman and Green Lantern families both came through the relaunch relatively unchanged"
"– Mongul destroys Coast City. Hal helps Superman stop Mongul. Hal then goes nuts, killing the Guardians and several GLs before giving in to Parallax.
– Kyle Rayner becomes the last GL. Guy becomes Warrior. John becomes a Darkstar."

Wow, thanks for the link. Insane how much they think can logically be compressed into a 5-year period.

he's the newest Earth GL
Kyle being the last GL is now history - everything that happened in the Green Lantern comics happened in the current storyline, it just all happened in a very short period of time.
Just like Crisis on Infinite Earths, Flashpoint had very little effect on the Green Lantern story as a whole.

After reading today's issue of Green Lantern: New Guardians, I'm really beginning to question all this. I'm not sure if Jordan ever was Parallax. Because it shows a flashback of Kyle Rayner being led around Planet Oa by Ganthet as a rookie Green Lantern, and everything including the Green Lantern Corps is intact. If Jordan did go Parallax, then all of that should have been destroyed and there shouldn't have been a GL Corps when Kyle was a rookie GL.

Yeah...I got that feeling too. Sometimes I wonder if comic writers have the "Vince McMahon" disease - changing or ignoring storylines or events to benefit their agendas with no regard for what actually transpired.

Make it easier for yourself, the only thing that is true are those that you've read in the past 15 issues. Ignore everything else even what DC or the writers say in interviews until you see them in the comics themselves.
Those questions you've asked, are stories yet to be told or acknowledged in the comics when they are good and ready.

I almost have a feeling that Hal being Parallax is implied, even though they don't say it outright. I say this based on the statement Gaunthet says to Kyle about finding him in the back alley and giving him the last ring. In terms of Kyle being in boot camp, could this had happen after the Corps being restored?

To put it quite simply it's because....well...
I'd rather not talk about it.
However, the answer is somewhere in these message boards. But right now you're very cold.

OK, now I am even more confused than before.
And, by the way, Hal Jordan WAS Parallax. I have the comics to prove it.

I got nothin' - your logic is flawless my friend, I too have the proof.
The New52 isn't impressing me very much so far. 16 issues in and it still feels like it's in the 3rd issue 'introduction' stage.

So do I, and yet later issues contradict it. We're 16 issues in and there's already continuity errors.
I guess it's no different than the first Crisis, though. I mean the Silver Age Hawkman existed for a couple years after the Post-Crisis universe started, then in 1989 the 3-issue Hawkworld mini-series came out and erased that. And then to even further complicate things, in 1992 Armageddon: Inferno brought the Golden Age Hawkman (originally from Earth-2, Pre-Crisis) along with the rest of the JSA to the Post-Crisis universe.
