I usually only own one variant, on most of the multiple variants within numerous titles. It makes it difficult to sync the issues without having the others to verify content. I just want to see what the consensus is in regards to syncing issues without having the variants in hand.

When syncing variants, the bios, storyarcs, artists, editors, writers, and characters will most often be exactly the same. The only differences will be:
1) Caption - each variant should have it's own caption 2) Story Arc Tags - each variant may or may not have it's own specific tag (DF Cover, for example) 3) Artists - the cover artists for each variant may be different
