Just make sure you aren't leading your current g/f on if you still have feelings towards the mother of your child. If you need to, tell her you want to take it slow for now until you can reconsile your situation in life. It's obvious you care for your g/f and you don't want these feelings for your ex to interfere with your current relationship, but as long as you have these feelings, it's going to eventually come out and cause her a great deal of pain. Sometimes it's hard to come to terms with the realities of life. If it's obvious that there is nothing left between you and your ex, it's best to move on and except the gift that has been bestowed upon you with this new relationship. Hanging on to the past will bring you nothing but grief. It's best to look at it as a learning experience. See what you did wrong in the previous relationship and try not to repeat the same mistakes.
