Wow! What a crazy weekend this was in the sports world!

So I'm the first person to say that walking around in a park isn't really a sport but after I saw golfer Sergio Garcia climb a tree to play his ball I'm not so sure. Who else would do that? Maybe John Daly if there was a fried cheese sandwich up there but I don't see Phil Mickelson or Lee Westwood scrambling up an oak with a five iron.

Then we have soccer in the snow. (Disclaimer: I actually like soccer but it's an easy target so please soccer fans don't take it personally. Plus I know how you guys like to fight and I don't want my face caved in!) USA versus Costa Rica in a blizzard was INTENSE! Those dudes were running around in shorts and t-shirts, couldn't even see the ball half the time, and this from a sport where someone will hit the ground like they got sniper-shot then get carried off on a stretcher only to bounce up and run back in minutes later. USA - Mexico tonight and I hear they are playing on the slopes of a volcano...

On to NASCAR, another so-called sport. Apparently driving around in circles for several hours isn't enough and now we've got Mayhem on Mosh Pit Row! Two weeks in a row now there have been throw-downs between various pit crews and drivers and Tony Stewart for one is advocating adopting hockey rules so that the drivers will be allowed to square off. I like it. Let's call it Race-Boxing. Go ten laps and then the first place driver fights the last place driver, second versus next to last and so on. Or maybe just a Battle Royale and then run back to the cars for more racing.

Speaking of hockey, while in the bench area Boston Bruins assistant coach Geoff Ward for some reason tossed his earpiece in the air and it went over the glass behind him and it landed in a fans beer who had no idea what just happened. Are you serious?! No way I would ever play this guy in Beer Pong. Fell out of my chair laughing at this one.

Now (as if that wasn't enough) I find out that Washington Redskins QB Bob Griffin was photographed tossing the pigskin around with an elephant. At a circus. I would rather the pachyderm be an offensive lineman than a wide receiver.

Sports - you can't make this stuff up.
