Normally Monday and Tuesday are my favorite days because those are the days I receive most of my comics.

However it always bugs the crap out of me when a seller advertises how all comics ship bagged and boarded. Then they wrap the bags in packing tape to secure to cardboard in the box. I mean whats the purpose of the bag and board if useless once you cut off the 3 feet of packing tape, ugh

So sellers "Dont duct tape the bag to the packing board"!

Boo Hoo!

That is ridiculous. I can understand wanting to protect the comics from damage but not at the expense of the B&B. Everything I ship is bagged and boarded and packed in a sturdy cardboard box with plenty of packing material to keep it from sliding around or getting punctured. When you get a bag and board from me it is very reusable. Even my 25ct comics get a bag and board! Kiss

I received a comic book a while ago, Marvel Tales #67 in a regular enveloppe (no bubbles) without bag, without a board... totally naked.

Fortunately, I was lucky enough and it didn't get bend or anything. Still, I was (banned) at the seller since it was written on eBay "bagged&boarded" which wasn't!

I've had lots of books arrive packed as you describe. I'm more annoyed that it makes it a bit tougher to get the books out than losing the bag/bags. I have more here I can pack them in when I'm done reading them.

I prefer bagged and boarded. But have gotten books not B&Bd that were well packed and in perfect shape when they arrived. And not so well packed ones like yesterday when I got a TPB in the mail that was just tossed into a big yellow envelope with no other packing material. Somehow it arrived looking like it had just come off the shelf. The outside of the envelope looked like it had been through a war. Got lucky on that one.

amazon?
I've stopped buying TPBs from amazon because they show up with no packing material and are beat to hell.

No, a seller on Ebay. I've always had great luck with Amazon. Any TPBs from them have come in a box, nicely packed.

The loss of a bag isnt so bad for me since I mylar all my books but I only have 1 day a week I can sort, rebag and put away my books. So when my back issues come in I usually just stick them in one of 2 long boxes to deal with later. But if they come all taped and ruined I have to rebag then put in long box to later be sleeved. Its just stupid to advertise bagged and boarded then tape all over the bag you advertised.

It totally amazes me how some people put so much effort into packaging the books they ship, but spend absolutely no thought on HOW THE BUYER IS GOING TO OPEN IT UPON RECEIPT. Many times, the books arrive safe and sound, only to be man handled trying to unwrap them.

lol, I received one about 2 weeks ago that when I receive knew was going to be a chore opening. The seller had wrapped the outside of the box with about a half a roll of duck tape and serious used real duck tape. So I knew when package arrived where the other half of the duck tap was, lol. Sure enough when I opened box the seller used the other half of the roll attaching the comic to a hard board to prevent damage.

If it would have been a cheap comic I would have just thrown away and bought again from different seller, but it was a $100 book so had to spend about 30 minutes carefully opening, lol.

Ahh the ol duct tape shipping armor. I thought you were going to say they had used the other half of the tape on the comic and forgotten to bag it first.
