At first I thought that I'd been diverted to another website, because of the page layout. When I checked the page header to see if it was still CCL. Do your browsers show the same change to the retro-CCL style too? Or is it just my system? Refresh doesn't revert the current layout. I just opened up a new window.

anything to do with the default.aspx being changed to framehelper.aspx?

indeed it does! try it on this page here - just replace 'default' in the url with 'framehelper' and hit enter, changes to that 'old style' layout.
