DC did a whole line of just head covers back in '97. You can see them using the DC Headshots Cover tag.

Marvel has also done this, all by Todd Nauck (a couple are posted above). Check out the Marvel Headshot Cover tag.

Marvel is now doing a series of head only covers for Star Wars books. They're being collected under the Star Wars Headshot Cover tag.
