The Fantastic Four attend the night club show of the Miracle Man. During the show, he calls them out, claiming his power is greater than theirs, and embarrasses the Thing. Thus emboldened, the Miracle Man lays plans to subjugate the world. He animates a monster movie promotional statue, and terrorizes the city with it. The team tracks down and destroys the monster, but are beaten by the Miracle Man. The Invisible Woman tracks his departure, and calls the others with the signal flare. They subdue the Miracle Man, but the Torch departs the team, tired of being bossed around.
First appearances of the Miracle Man, the Fantasti-car, uniforms, and the Baxter Building.
"Trapped by the Protecter!" featuring the Astonishing Ant-Man by Lee/Lieber and Kirby/Ayers. 13 pages.

Local jewelers are being terrorized into paying protection money to the mysterious, masked Protecter. Ant-Man uses his ants track down the villain, confront him, and solves the case.

Flint Marko, known as the Sandman for his ability to let his body turn to sand and take any form, has been on a crime spree. In their first confrontation, Spider-Man can't find a way to manage against the Sandman's various attacks. Spidey inadvertently tears his mask in the fighting and must flee or risk losing his secret identity. Marko, on the run from police, holes up in Midtown High, giving Spider-Man the opportunity for his rematch. This time, it takes ingenuity and not muscle to win the day.
