A twist on a classic tale.

I was a little worried about reading this book after reading another CCL member's review. I left it as my last read of the week, and it turned out that it was a great way to finish my stack.

I really enjoyed this story. It was an intimate twist on the original story. Adam Freeman kept the main idea of Kurt Wagner's orign, while making it more personal. Cary Nord and James Harren's art just added to intimacy of the book.

Most of these origin stories have been well worth picking up. On a side note, I am really interested in the way they portray Xavier in all of these stories. Rather than the Xavier I grew up with, it is the modern incarnation. The powerful telepath who has no problem messing with people's minds to achieve his goal.

Good read.

I'm also a big fan of the orgin stories even with a bit of revisionist twist to them.
