After reading this book, I was reminded why I stopped reading superhero comic books. There's really nothing "wrong" with this book per se. It's a nice little average origin story of a teenager who gains super powers from a cosmic being. It's been done before. And I'm sure the next few issues could be better depending how Blue Beetle adapts to his new powers. Again, if you're a die hard Blue Beetle fan you'll dig this book. I'm not. I'm looking for something a bit different, a bit new (though that's unlikely in modern comics...) and a bit - wow. It's hard to find those qualities in superhero comics.
All in all - If you dig Blue Beetle, read this. If not, skip it - 2.5/5.
