Warlord of Mars #1 has set a good beginning for what promises to be a great adventure story as only Edgar Rice Boroughs can envision and Arvid Nelson delivers.
My only complain is the somewhat an even illustrations. The first few pages in the western panels are well done, but when we move to Mars the pencil and colors seem to diminish in quality. It’s as if different artists were responsible for these last panels. Based on the credits that is not so, leaving me to surmise that the artists wanted to deliver a different atmosphere as it transitions to Mars. I don’t like it.
Story wise, this series has lost of potential and I will follow it as long as it delivers adventure and hopefully a more crisp artistic interpretation of john Carter’s adventures in the red planet Mars.
