I'm pretty sure this is a labor of love for the writing/artist team. Does it resonate with average comic readers, maybe not. It is a classy independent title nevertheless and worthy of a wider audience. Image Comics is the premier outlet for independent creative talent and it shows with the published material they deliver on a weekly basis. Lots of it is experimental and will only cater to a small audience. This one title is not so experimental as it follows a commonly use story-telling structure and the art is fair. The theme is not unique as we deal with immortality on most issues, but this one not in the context of a super-being. The many flaws in the characters speak to a common, very American suburban landscape that is definitely not unique to comics, but there are enough new twists to almost make it progressive.
