I'm not sure what drew me to the Black Panther all these years ago, I guess there was just something cool about a character named Black Panther.
Despite T'Challa on appearing on a few pages of his own comic, we are treated to a great, albeit brief, history of the great African nation of Wakanda.
The technology and fighting spirit of the Wakandans is evident as they repulse attacks from a rival tribe in the 5th Century and encroaching white forces inthe 19th century.
We are given a great 2 page spread on his legendary fight with Captain America where he defeated the best America had to offer.
This is all presented as the United States is seeking more information on the seemingly isolationist, independent nation.
Did I mention that it is all presented by one of my favorite artist John Romita JR.?
A great read and great visual treat.
Highly recommended.
