The concluding issue of Secret Invasion X-Men has arrived and to be honest, Im not gonna beat around the bush with this review, Im just gonna go straight into what I thought about it.
This short 4 part mini series has been on and off good and bad from issue to issue. However, I would say that this final issue was nothing short or nothing more than just an 'okay' read, in so far that I didnt think it ended on a major flop and that everything was wrapped up nicely I thought.
Now Im not gonna complain about Mike Carey's choice to use the Legacy Virus in this story because in all honesty, this is the first time ive ever encountered it in a comic thus I have no opinion on it.
Nothing major really happened throughout this whole series which leaves me thinking if it actually served a point and was needed? Because to be frank, I dont think this series needed to be written.
It all seemed way to overthetop as well in terms of the sheer numbers of Skrulls who attacked San Fran', it just seemed too OTT for me. I dunno, but I enjoyed the actual story to an extent.
The writting itself within the issues (by this I mean dialouge and naration) was handled well I thought, as was the brilliant artwork which I truely enjoyed a lot!
All in all, an okay series, but it wasnt needed in the slightest. Makes me wish Id not bought into it now.
