The tennis tournament's top seed was cocky, but when he met his first opponent, a man not likely to be half as good, he is stunned by an upset defeat. He suspects his opponent has a special racket, and tries to investigate when he is waylaid. He awakens on an operating table, where the doctor informs him that the strings on the best players rackets are no longer cat gut. 3 pages.
