There are glimpses of complexity in this series with a question of what is the past of Soldier Zero and what is he hiding from. One avenue to get these answers has been snatched out by the self-destruction of Soldier One. We are left with Soldier Zero and Stewart to explain their murder of a policeman to the authorities and friends, so most likely we will not get an understanding of Soldier Zero's history for a while.
There are qualities of the story that are compelling, much like Green Lantern is compelling, but there is a need to expand the story quickly otherwise Boom will loose readers quickly.
