Always Entertaining

I recently read the first 43 issues of "The Boys" and I think Garth Ennis does a fantastic job. The idea is that most of the superhumans in the world have been corrupted by their abilities beyond normal humans. Not only do they often participate in illegal and immoral activities, but they also have no real compassion for those less capable than themselves. The "Boys" are a government organization responsible for keeping and eye on superhumans and dealing out some severe justice when certain lines are crossed. This book is not for the easily offended but the humor and violence certainly make it a stand-out series. On more than one occasion I've caught myself laughing out loud as well as being overwhelmed by intense nausea. This story is excellent at bringing emotions to the surface and has been a positive addition to my collection. The art has worked perfectly with the story and has been just as graphic as the tone would suggests it should be. It is my understanding that a new artist will be taking over. Hopefully, they can uphold the standard that has been set. Anyone who is squeamish may want to keep their distance. However, I would recommend all others to jump aboard and see what you've been missing.
