Sodam sacrifices himself to give Daxam a fighting chance against the tyranny of Mongul and the Sinestro Corps that are his allies.
The Emerald Eclipse story arc continues with Sinestro explaining his relationship with Soranik and warns her that the red Lanterns will come for her in order to hurt Sinestro.
In general the Green Lantern Corps is a weak substitute for the Green Lantern. It does showcase some interesting characters, but I find the writing and pace to be weak making this title an average read.
