At twelve small, black & white pages of content, this ashcan provided just the tiniest morsel of what readers were in for with JoeQ & JimmyP's Ash.
While there isn't a ton of content, what is here is well put together. The first eleven pages provide sketch work, design work and finished product accompanied by detailed commentary on each page. The twelfth page is is a bio page, including photos of each very young looking (hey, it was back in 1994) creator. The front, back and inside back cover all provide dynamic artwork, again highlighting the quality production in this little ashcan.
It would have been great if the certificate of authenticity for this signed edition was numbered, but it was the mid-90s and, then Comic Cavalcade President, William A. Christensen was still a few years away from creating the limited edition juggernaut that is Avatar Press.
Overall, a great little package and a must have (particularly this signed edition) for any Event Comics completionist.
