Another Great Origin Story for Marvel!!!

In celebration of their 75th Anniversary Marvel has given us a treat with “The Marvels Project: Birth of the Super Heroes”. As I was reading this eight issue miniseries collected in HC to treasure for many years and for many generations in my family, I kept thinking of Alex Ross and his “Marvels” HC that I had read only a few months back (Reviewed at ). It has Rossesque quality to it. Ross not only brought us the magnificent Marvels, but also the amazing “Avengers/Invaders” () where Ross again dwells on the marvel universe origins. These three titles along with “The Torch” () I believe constitute the best recreation of the Marvel Universe or any comic universe for that matter.

As I said before, even though there is a strong Ross influence felt in this title, the art does not measure the the greatness expressed in the other Ross titles. The writing though is solid and not having read much from Ed Brubaker, it engaged me so firmly that I read the HC in one sitting because I felt the need to complete the experience completely and immediately.

This title is a must for Marvel enthusiasts, which I'm not one, but most definitely any comic reader needs to be amazed and moved by this story.
