I always enjoy Batman in one-shot or limited series and this reinvention is satisfying. It is well executed and the art is rendered to add to the sinister atmosphere. The writing is a bit contrived at times, but acceptable for the tale in question. There is no mystery here as the premise of the story is so well known from both the history of Batman as well as of Frankenstein. But there are enough nice touches that keep the story going despite the background history and well travelled roads that the story takes.
This is a refreshing take on an old and favorite character that makes the issue a good read to Batman fans. It’s like What If Batman is Frankenstein; especially a good story at Halloween.
