Viking raiders pillage the coastal towns, and Leif the Lucky means to take home a bride. When they come across Lady Rosamund and Sir Percy riding through the woods, Leif takes Rosamund as his prize. Percy cannot fight without revealing his charade as a fop, so runs away, only to return as the Black Knight. It is now the Vikings' turn to flee. 6 pages.

El Alemain, having discovered the truth about his heritage, goes to join King Richard in his Crusade, but must fight his way there through Mongol hordes. He is accepted by Richard. When the Mongols demand that a champion come forth for a duel, Alemain steps forth for the Crusaders and faces Saladin, a noble Mongol champion, whom he defeats. He spares Saladin's life, and returns to Richard, who knights him for the noble act. 5 pages.

King Arthur and his knights travel the country-side, visiting the towns at the time of their festivals, leaving Mordred at Camelot. The Black Knight stays behind as well, distrusting Mordred. Mordred has arranged for Normans to lay siege to Camelot in Arthur's absence, with the arrangement to grant them access in exchange for a power-sharing arrangement. 6 pages.
