Brubaker, You Genius!

For some reason the guys down at my local comic shop decided to put an issue of Daredevil aside for me this week after I never told them ever to add it to my pull list. They probably saw me pick every issue of the Lady Bullseye story arc just gone past and thought I'd want this. So anyway, I thought why not get one issue and see what its like, because truth be told, I have been secretly interested to know what's this new story arc with the Kinpin is about.

Man oh man, was I glad they put this issue aside for me! One part in here gave me that heavy heart feeling where I actually felt sorry for the Kinpin and wanted to reach out and encourage him.

**possible plot spoilers**

The Kinpin is in Spain trying to settle into a life away from crime, corruption, murder and whatnot, while trying to come to terms with his old wife Vanessa. He finds a new love and then guess who steps in (she's a lady, and she's a huge douche.. yeah HER) and ruins it all for him.

The way Ed Brubaker had written this was so touching and made you really see how much Fisk was going through and how much he was having to overcome within himself to settle down for the one he loved. There were some really good character connections here, especially between Fisk and the children of his new love interest. Absolutely brilliant.

It was a side to the Kinpin we've never seen before, and this issue was a huge turning point for the character, it made him much more human. The artwork is brilliant and only makes this more atmospheric and sad to read.

Brilliant brilliant brilliant.
