Casanova Luxuria

I first encountered this series when I saw #8 of Casanova when I was working my way through the the 25p bin at my local comic store, and noticed the cover was a homeage to the world famous Andy Warhol paintings of Mick Jagger, and it immediatly caught my eye and I thought to myself "hey, that cover's got taste, I'll see what this is about!", and so I bought it, read it and thought it was pretty interesting.. but I had no idea what it was about. So I did some research and found out that there was a TPB of the first volume of this series, and went out, bought it and gave it a read.

This was totally awesome! If you have any love for sci-fi espionage or secret agents then this is the comic you want to have read! The main character is a super sexy, super smooth secret agent called Casanova Quinn and the plot is all about universe jumping and time travel (I wont spoil anymore because its pretty groundbreaking stuff what goes on here). Just imagine how awesome James Bond would be on acid and this is it. It has psychedelic tendancies and recreational drug use, super sexy women and super awesome undercover, gun-blazin' action! THIS IS BADASS! Plus with smooth artwork from one of my favourite artists Gabriel Ba making it even better to read, this is one you do not wanna miss out on if youre into this kinda stuff!

I have to say, I am no fan of espionage or sci-fi secret agent stuff, but I truely enjoyed this one heck of a lot!

Gripping action, gripping dialogue and one of the most creative and imaginative plot lines in the history of independant comics, this is one which will be tugging at your brain giving you a pleasurable headache for a long time!

It is a confusing read at first, and I had to re-read each issue about 10 times (no joke) to understand what was going on properly with the plot line.. which is perhaps my only complaint, but when it makes sense.. thats when you realise what a masterpiece of literature this really is.

This is one worth reading, and its probably the only story in its genre I will ever read or enjoy.
