If there is a series I would like to thanks Marvel for more than any other it would be this one. I really enjoy everything about this book. I have a natural affinity towards B-List characters; I always have, so this book really caters to those needs.
When you step back and reflect on the storylines within this series, it is amazing how complex the storytelling is. The truly amazing thing however, is how easy it is to follow. Dan Slott has fit this book like a glove.
Issue 20 would serve as a great 'jumping on' point for anyone interested in starting up the series. Several new storylines get their start here.
* Ant-Man is called up to the Thunderbolts thanks to his...
bravery during Secret Invasion. This seems like an elaborate scheme, but only time will tell.
*Hank Pym tries to come to grips with all that has happened since his kidnapping at the hands of the Skrull Empire. And he does this in his usual, unhealthy, Yellowjacket way!
*The Shadow Initiative team are being sent to Madripoor to take down former teammate turned Hydra big-wig Hardball.
*3-D Man is cleared of killing Crusader during the Secret Invasion. On a sad note though, the Skrull Kill Krew bury my favourite member.
*Taskmaster uncovers who Mutant Zero is.
*Tigra wrestles with the fact that she is pregnant with Skrull Pym's baby!
*And just when you thought the Skrulls were done the senile Baron Von Blitzshlag fails to enter a 15 day failsafe code activating Operation Final Strike. What is Final Strike you say? Well only time will tell, but there was a dude, that looked a lot like the Thor Clone from Civil War, who opened his eyes when the activation code initiated!!!!
This is comic book storytelling at its best. The internal strife feels real, the characters are easy to relate to and the drama has me begging for more. I love this series!
