"Beware the Hyrkanians Bearing Gifts...!"
Riding long and hard through the desert, on an exhausted steed, Conan finally arrives in Aghrapur - capital city to all of Turan. Conan had been sent as an emissary to Khitai, by King Yildiz (*see issue #32) and finally has returned to give his report.
However, tired, sunburned, and dehydrated from many days in the desert, Conan collapses. Amytis instructs the guards to take him to her quarters, where he's attended to by her serving wenches. When Conan regains consciousness, and grasps his surroundings, he and Amytis pick up their affair where they left off - unbeknownst to Narim-Bey.
With King Yildiz's armies, led by Prince Yezdigerd, laying seige to Makkalet, and the twin cities of Razadan and Dimmarz, the King's personal guard has been spread quite thin, so he adds Conan to his ranks.
The spoils of the fallen cities start to make their way back to Aghrapur - gold, jewels, and of specific note, a great headless statue. It is said that the head of the statue resides in the other twin city, and once retrieved, King Yildiz believes the complete statue will be a symbol of his power, and have all Hyrkanians bowing to Turan.
Once the head is finally brought back to Aghrapur, along with a captive Hyrkanian priest, the two are joined, and the King now has his great new symbol. But, now the great statue comes to life, bent on destroying and killing everything in its path. Will even Conan be able to escape the clutches of this great Golem?
