I am hoping that this book has been purposely set up with lots of mystery to help create future storylines. If not, I am just plain confused.
I realize that I am in the minority when I say that this new series hasn't really done much for me. But like most of Brubaker's writing, I find Secret Avengers painfully slow. There is no doubt about it, he is a good writer. His pacing just doesn't suit me. I am also having a difficult time buying his Steve Rogers.
The Serpent Crown idea has me confused. The whole concept of this splinter group and the three crowns just seemed to fall out of the bloody sky. Is this supposed to be the classic case of some heroes accidentally stumbling into the 'hornet's nest"? I'm just not feeling it.
Now Nova's gone, Moon Knight is merely a decoration on the team and Ant-Man receives more panels than the rest of the characters combined. I'm sorry, but I just can't get into this. I am going to stick with the series with the hopes that they return to Earth (I hate cosmic stories), but after that we will see.
