As a Spider-Man fan, I even got a little frustrated with the clone saga of days gone by. However, that jaded past sparks a great new story.
While Peter attends a dinner that future May Parker husband-to-be J.J.J Senior has set up, he has no idea what is about to happen in the bathroom of that restaurant.
The villain Raptor is after Peter Parker and Spider-Man can't figure out why. Raptor, tries to kill Peter Parker, but Spider-Man jumps in just in time to save the day.
As Spider-Man battles Raptor, he tries to understand why this villain is so adamant on killing Peter Parker. The story sets up a great prologue for what could be a potentially great story in a future ASM arc.
The story in this annual left me wanting more. It was a good read, but left me dangling. Marc Guggenheim does a good job of setting up the story and Pat Ollifee's art is quite good.
If you are a casual reader of ASM, you probably don't need this issue, but I am a fan, and of course I never miss an issue.
This Annual also included a preview of The Marvels Project which I found interesting and a cool bonus. The preview revolved around an elderly "Two Gun Kid" a book I enjoyed when I was a kid.
All in all, I rated this a four because I am a fan, and it kept my interest and left me wanting more.
