Distinctive Voice and Imagery

Even though Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? Dust to Dust (DADOESD2D) is a prequel of Dick’s comic adaptation DADOES, it has its own voice and a distinctive look all of its own. Chris Robertson is not attempting to write like Dick. Robertson has found his own way to express the concepts that Dick introduces in his master work and makes it his own in a very precise manner. DADOESD2D deals with Mercerism and the search for androids that need to be brought down due to their deviant behavior. The hunt for androids, as explained in this issue, deals more with the need to hunt those that will hunt us in the future, than simply a desire to eliminate androids for the sake of keeping another sentient being out of humanities way.

Robert Adler gives us distinctive images and evokes a particular mood in his drawings and Andres Lozano uses colors extremely well to move us from scenes involving the gentle Samantha Wu and the harsher reality of the hunter Charlie Victor.

This title is evolving to make a name for itself without having to follow the foot steps of DODOES. The child is growing to be independent of the father.
