Do you believe in magic?

I've been a big supporter of Moonstone's Phantom title since it started, and I decided to break down and pay the $6.00 cover for the second annual, mainly due to the appearance of Mandrake and Lothar in the story.

The good points? Fairly solid artwork (although the first panel where we see them all interact together was about an inch. Story wasn't half bad. Phantom is SO much cooler than Lothar and Mandrake combined though. LOL! Since the series is ending, (and relaunching with under the "Ghost Who Walks" header) the print runs on these issues are EXTREMELY low and will be highly sought after by long-time Phantom fans both here and abroad. (If you don't know, the Phantom has a HUGE following overseas)

The bad points? No Flash Gordon for a 'Defenders of the Earth' reunion and if you want all 3 covers to this comic, you'll be paying at least $20.00 US for the trio. That is, if you can FIND them all. In this case, you'll have a fun time searching for the set of these.

The premise of the story is a family member of Lothar's gets tied up in something that he shouldn't, and Mandrake and Phantom are there to help their friend out. Mandrake and Lothar are an interesting duo to be sure, but when the Phantom makes three...look out.

Snag this one.
