E.L.L.I.S. Universe

I get the same feeling reading this series as did reading Grant Morrison's run on New X-Men. And let me just be clear, I hate Grant Morrison! It seems to me that Ellis; like Morrison, doesn't like the X-universe the way that it is, and has just decided to rewrite it as he sees fit. Is this an alternative universe or is this 616? Emma doesn't have a sliver of the Void stuck in her skull in the Astonishing Universe? Also, like Morrison, it seems to me that someone has given Ellis complete artistic liscence to write characters however he sees fit. For instance, what is up with Ellis' constantly horny Beast? I really don't want to read that stuff...at all! I did enjoy the art, but after further consideration, I think it was Andy Lanning's inking that really pushed Jimenez's art to the next level. This was an okay read, and it did inspire me to do a little research Cruithne ("Earth's second moon") which is actually very cool! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3753_Cruithne
