Issue #1 places us in the middle of a zombie-like attack by the city folk and their children; magic is at its core, the source has yet to be determined. I must say that the character of Copernicus Jinx is probably the most intriguing. We also get to meet Juliana, Adric Fell's love interest and magician in her own right. There is a mystery about their relationship that will be nice to witness its evolution as the story unfolds.
I like the art in this issue. There are great moments in the story where the art contributes to the story by imparting a dynamism to the page that increases the drama and action, especially in the scenes where magic is been used to forge a barrier between the protagonists and the zombies.
