**SPOILER ALERT** If you DO NOT WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS IN FINAL CRISIS #6, DO NOT READ MY REVIEW**There, now that the disclaimer is over let's get down to business.
Final Crisis #6 felt more like Morrison was trying to tie up too many loose plot threads than focus on an overall story. It very much had a "
Revenge of the Sith" feel to it. We get some resolution to the whole Mary Marvel thing. We get some resolution to the whole Libra thing. AND, yes, we even get some resolution to the whole Batman thing.
And Darkseid never even got up outta his chair in 6 issues.
So about
The Death of Batman: Yeah, he's been around for 70 years now.
Several motion pictures. TV show. Multiple animated shows. Probably billions of dollars in licensing. A virtual cash cow for DC....
...and the death takes up
4 pages in this book? Sorry, it could be the death of Bruce Wayne, but I highly doubt it. Why? He's flippin'
BATMAN. His super-power is staying two steps ahead of his opponent. Be it time travel, alternate reality, or multiverse-driven, I don't think I've seen the last of Bruce Wayne. I don't care if Superman
IS holding a skeleton draped in Batman's costume on the last page.
Didn't Booster Gold try this stunt in the pages of '52'?
In short, a disappointing issue, but I'm so numb from the disappointment found in
Final Crisis and BATMAN R.I.P that heck, one more isn't going to make that big a difference for me.
I realize I've been a real downer to DC, and I'm sorry. DC has put out so much quality stuff in the past, that I hold the bar high for them.
Too bad they haven't
delivered.
