I thought this series was written pretty well. After the first couple pages I was deeply engrossed in the storyline. The main focus of the story is a super-powered police unit with an officer who decides to put a permanent end to violent criminals, instead of leaving future potential victims at risk. This determination is made after watching so many criminals slide through the justice system, or completely avoid incarceration based on technicalities.
I expected Absolution to be predictable, but the more I read the more I wanted. There are seven issues total beginning with Absolution-0. Gage does an excellent job developing the personalities of the main characters. While some of them may have powers which are typical in comics, there are characters such as Cluster___ and The Technocrat who add some originality.
This series is certainly worth picking up. Extremely entertaining and a whole new cast of characters to read about. I hope to see more work done with Absolution in the future. Sequel...?
