This is an excellent mini-series if the first issue is any indication. The dialogue reminds me of the words that would come out of Rorschach from the Watchmen. The internal dialogue shows the mental state of the Twilight Guardian as she contemplates her role as a hero and the her personal issues.
The way the theme of comics within the comic not unlike the Watchmen again, and the small touches to tie her world to the wider Top Cow universe lend this series a depth not frequently seen.
The writing and art are well suited to each other and represent a complete whole that is pleasant to read and watch.
There are clear indebtedness to Millar's Kick-Ass series in the conceptualization of an ordinary teenager becoming a hero and looking for affinities with other of similar bent.
Similarly, the search for her nemesis (counter-part) has the feel of the M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable.
I'm looking forward to the remaining issues.
