Excellent Start

Bendis really set the table well for this story using a formula that I am just now picking up on. And unless you read the Avengers' books, you'll never catch it. This first issue plays out almost identically to Mighty Avengers #1, when Tony Stark was picking his team. The main difference being that the tome is much darker. The roster did not suprise me at all with the exception of Venom. I didn't think it was going to still be Mac Gargon in the black spidey suit because of how small he was in the solicits. Low and behold, the answer to this mystery is also probally the lowpoint of the book. I'm also not sure how I feel about Osborn straight up stealing superhero names for his team members (Wolverine, Spider-Man etc.) Should make for some interesting conflicts. This was a great first issue which looks very promising as s series. Now if only we could convince Thor to join the New Avengers...

Your review is spot on. I'm not a huge super hero comic fan but this one looked too intriguing. Dark Avengers got off to an excellent start which builds anticipation for future issues.

While I don't buy hardly ANY Marvel titles, this one just looks too interesting. Might have to pick this one up now...
