Marvel did a great service to the North American and English speaking comics reading public by bringing comics from France under the Soleil publishing brand. The stories have generally been well executed and a delight to read. Tales of the Dragon Guard is probably the high one of those titles that deserves special mention because it depicts Dragons, the staple of fantasy stories, in such a different way. Dragons in the hands of the writing couple Anne and Gerard Guéro, “Ange”, are a corrupting force of nature, an alien disturbance in the work and only the Dragon Guard can keep them contained.
Reading and looking at the illustrations of tales of the Dragon Guard brings joy to the heart of this comics fan.
