Finally Better!

This is Part IV of the "Word's Most Wanted" storyline. And after reading parts I, II and III, I was pretty sure this would be my last Iron Man comic. But like the famous saying goes, "Just when I thought I was out, the pull me right back in!" In full juxtaposition, Part IV was able to shake the "suck" off of the storyline, and come back with a really great issue. Very little is made of Pepper Potts donning the armour, other than a very entertaining couple of pages showing her dialogue with JARVIS, the armour's AI unit. Despite my reviews from the past few issues, this seemed to suddenly work for some reason. I guess only time will tell where this angle leads us. I've grown accustomed to the covers of a comic book not really aligning with what is happening in the story inside. This book however, is an exception to that rule. Not only is it a great cover, it depicts one of two great moments in the book. This moment being the clash between War Machine and Iron Man. Now, in the past this may have seemed like a lopsided fight in the favour of Iron Man. But post Extremis shows us a whole new Golden Avenger, who is not quite as formidable as he once was. Fraction and Larroca treat us to a very cool ending to Part IV of this storyline. I won't spoil it here, but let me just say that I am looking forward to this next issue, which is not something I was saying a couple of weeks ago. All I'll say is, of all Iron Man's enemies, the one he is about to come face-to-face with might be the most challenging!

A great read.
