This 2 story issue had a good story and a not so good story. Who would have ever thought that Flash Thompson would boost a rating review for Spider-Man? It wasn't the Morbius story that I liked in this issue, it was the Flash story.
But, let's start with the Morbius story since that is the headliner. Lame... lame... lame. Did I mention lame? Jeesh, Black Cat sells some of Peter's blood to Morbius, like we're supposed to buy that. Then, Spidey chases Morbius down to get back his blood, and Morbius, wrestling with morality, destroys Spidey's blood. So, Spidey feels bad and gives Morbius some more of his blood. LAME!
Anyone want to buy my Spider-Man collection? Because I am just about pushed into it with this lame story. Fred Van Lente did a horrible job of writing to match the horrible job Joe quinones did with the art work. At least the art and the story were equally bad.
But, to save the day is an actual good story about Flash dealing with his legs being blown off. I enjoyed that story as I could actually connect with the characters a bit.
The story of Flash losing his legs is touching to me, as I have a heart for those who serve this great country. Especially those who sacrifice when they serve. Because Marvel dedicated the story of Flash losing his legs to a service man who really did lose his legs, I have paid close attention to Flash and his antics.
Anyway, I am keeping my fingers crossed for the next issue of Amazing Spider-Man as I don't really want to chuck my collection that I have spent years on just because of some lame story telling recently.
