Foggy Can't Catch a Break

Just as everyone predicted, the cracks are beginning to show in Daredevil's Shadowland. And like any good fall from grace the cracks are appearing from within "The Man Without Fears' inner circle.

While Daredevil's superhero friends sit around jawing with the Kingpin about how to handle Daredevil, Black Tarantula begins untangling the tangled web that Shadowland is becoming. As could be expected, Tarantula's concern over what is happening on the streets of Hell's Kitchen were not well received from Daredevil. Just when it looked as though he was going to begin doing the right thing, Tarantula ran headfirst into the person who is orchestrating Daredevil's decent from within his organization.

Writer Andy Diggle does a nice job with the script. Poor Foggy Nelson and Dakota North don't seem to be able to catch a break and Diggle does a nice job of getting the read to share their sense of hopelessness. On a side note, matt Murdock should name his first born child Foggy for all the crap that man has been through in the name of Daredevil!

Once again we are treated to a horrible cover courtesy of John Cassaday (would it kill you to throw some detail into your work John?) but rest assured Marco Checchetto's dark artistic style is a perfect fit for the story inside.

The book wasn't the fastest moving book you'll read, but I have come to expect that from reading Daredevil. More psychological thriller than action. The story does need to pick up a little though if it wants to be rated as high as the various Shadowland tie-ins!
