Okay a bit of a different thread here. The point of this thread is that I'm always intrigue and trying to find the next show that might get my interest. Now fantasy and science fiction are my fave genres and superhero shows would be counted in them.

However in this day and age of streaming, it easier now than ever to overlook a show unless they become the talk of the internet. So this thread is to list them all in case either myself or anyone else might be curious in checking out these shows. Also TV movies (or more accurately streaming movies) these days counts in this thread too. I noticed it's extremely hard to find a definitely list of this anywhere on the net.

Also lets not list any shows or TV movies from mainstream Marvel and DC. I think everyone has heard of them and that's one of the few TV things you can find a definitive list of online. Something like Sandman I'm going to say is okay, but lets avoid all the obvious choices people think of when they think Marvel and DC superhero show. Anyways I'll begin with some that comes to mind.

Just heard of this new superhero show release on Netflix a few months ago called Supacell.

I remember this Sly Stallone superhero movie on Amazon called The Samaritan. Has anyone seen it?

I remember this goofy one Melissa McCarthy made called Thunder Force.

Here's one I personally liked and hate it that Netflix cancelled it after one season called Jupiter's Legacy.

Now for some titles that's aren't just superhero based.

Warrior Nun

Cursed based off the Lady in the Lake story of Merlin folklore

New Legends of Monkey

Willow the sequel series to the George Lucas film from the 80s of the same name
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzfJUib2y-Y

Renegade Nell (another one of the few along with Willow that's action based and not just Marvel and Star Wars)

I heard Disney pulled Willow from their platform. I guess that means you can't see it anywhere?

Yeah unfrotunately you'll have to go to some pirate site to watch Willow since Disney made it literally impossible to legally watch that show, as well as over a hundred other Disney show and movies. I think Willow fans actually made a website where you can watch the episodes.

I'm actually surprised Disney+ even has as much subscribers as they do because if you want to watch Disney+ original shows and movies, well Disney+ is the last place you'll find them at. I'm going to take a guess Renegade Nell is going to get pulled off the service soon enough too.

That one was really good! It was funny, had good action, the plot was believable. I was hoping they would do a Season 2. Certainly set one up.

Not the biggest Melissa McCarthy fan. I liked some, didn't like others. This one was wild. Very goofy like you said.

I know you said no Marvel/DC but this one I think might be just enough out of mainstream that people may not have heard of it.

Pennyworth

It's basically an origin story for Batman's butler, Alfred. To say that I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. This is not your Grandfather's Alfred! Dude is like a cross between James Bond and Jason Bourne. The series is amazing if you can find it.

I've got some more to add, will be back later.

Most of these are from my list of shows that I want to watch, but haven't gotten to yet. I did like Bodies and am currently enjoying The Wheel of Time (although apparently some fans of the series consider it a monstrosity).

Bodies

The Wheel Of Time

Arcane: League of Legends

Paper Girls

Resident Alien

The Legend of Vox Machina

Y: The Last Man

Thanks for adding man! Was actually about to add in the animated fantasy series like Vox Machina and Arcane. I decided to check out Netflix's direct fantasy listings and here were some of the other things they shown.

Others I can think of is the live action Winx club: Fate the Winx Saga
Fate the Winx Sage

Shadow and Bones

Bureau of Magic Things

Wu Assassins

Locke and Key
I should try and check this one out because I heard it was actually pretty good.

Kaos

The Order

That was a great show! Haven't seen Season 3 yet since I dropped Netflix a couple of years ago.

Wasn't sure what to think about it before seeing but I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Funny thing is that I was actually thinking of the show Lockwood and Co when I wrote that list. Just saw Locke and Key listed on Netflix and got the shows mixed up. However heard both of those shows were pretty good and both are ghost themed too with characters around the same age range.

Might as well throw this one in here:
Freaks - You're one of Us

I can only find the original German trailers online when ironically I heard about this show because my TV provider had a English version of this trailer.

Forgot another show from Netflix. Can't believe I actually forgot about this show because it actually has a very loyal fanbase.

Colleen and I started watching this and somehow lost track of it. It was interesting, will have to track it down and start over.

One that I really liked was Falling Skies

It started out on Earth after it had already fallen to an alien invasion and all that humanity had left were just ragtag survivors who had formed a resistance to the occupation. It was pretty wild. A second alien race shows up to help and another one appears towards the end as well. The conquering aliens had vast mental powers and they could control humans with mind control bioware. They also had an army of other aliens that they had enslaved and armored mechs that were like super walking tanks.

It came out in 2011 and the FX was pretty decent for it's time. Certainly not movie like but good for TV. Produced by TNT. The acting was fine as well. Y'all should check it out if you haven't already seen it.

I remember watching Y The Last Man when it first came out on TV and my thoughts was that it was tediously boring. Not saying all my sci-fi shows need to be action packed, but atleast have some conflict or something to keep me engaged. I just remember the episodes I watched kept jumping back between the past (which I didn't care about) and the present where the last man was basically going through the city I Am Legend style minus anything actually trying to kill him. I think he had a pet monkey with him and that was probably the thing keeping me at trying to watch that series. I just found it a complete chore to sit through.

You are correct, there was not a ton of action in the show! It was more cerebral sci-fi I guess. He did have a monkey named Ampersand.

Honestly if that show wasn't going to have any actual conflict, then at the very least I was hoping they would play around with the idea of having the whole world to yourself. For example not sure if you ever played the game "State of Decay". It was a zombie survival game about navigating a through a state where basically you have to build a community, find survivors, manage resources and similar stuff. You can relocate around the map too. The second game really found it's stride and I thought if the show was going to lack conflict, then entertain ideas of how life would be managed like in such a world.

The show didn't even have that either. It felt like Walking Dead minus the zombies where characters are just roaming around trying to find the plot of the show they're in.
