Hey CCL-ers! I'm one of the longest running stores selling comics on Comic Collector Live (METROPOLIS CONNECTIONS CANADA)! Collecting habits and preferences change like the seasons...but I'm curious:

What's everyone collecting these days?

Do you have something specific on your radar?

Trying to finish up a particular run or collection of your favorite character?

Trying to track down an elusive variant?

Tell us here!

Nice! You've got good taste! I'm more of a Legion of Super-Heroes guy but you can't go wrong with DC Silver Age.

Grendel.

I love Matt Wagner and this character is very fascinating to me. I have pretty much every Grendel comic that has ever been published but am currently looking for Grendel: Devil's Odyssey #6 (both covers. I see that there are a few for sale here but no one has both and I was hoping to get them from the same seller. Will probably just get them separately.

Since transitioning from a collector to a seller, I've maintained keeping my current collecting interests to a minimum, to avoid absconding with comics I acquire in collections and depositing them into my personal collection. Main things I look for now are:

Pre-1990 Marvel Trading Cards and Stickers

Fireside trade paperbacks and books (both Marvel and DC) from 1970's and early 1980's

Pocket book paperback comic reprint books from the 1960's to 1980's (any publisher), including books with new material like the Marvel Illustrated Novels and TSR CYOA style books

Marvel VHS Video Library series from the 1980's (clamshell cases)

That's pretty much it. I don't buy any of this on ebay, and it's such obscure stuff that I rarely come across it at shows, so that keeps costs down.

Oh my gosh...you're singing my favorite tune :)

I used to collect those Prism MCVL Clamshells. I don't have any of the VHS ones anymore, but I do own about a dozen of them on Betamax. Same clamshell just smaller cassette inside.

I used to have the Magneto one on Betamax, but sold it before I knew better. I actually found a Betamax player at Goodwill last summer. I bought it despite not having any Betamax tapes. Because you have to be prepared, right?

Oh man, where do I begin!?!? Ive always been a collector at heart first, and its always a battle with being a seller with that "I need it" mentality. Luckily my pc collection is pretty easy to fill with 90s stuff. Mainly trading cards & Image / Coffin / Marvel Comics.

Books on my want list to fill runs
Gambit #1 Gold
Uncanny & X-Men Vol 2
ASM #400-600s
Spawn #120-200s
Witchblade 60-100s
Tomb Raider
Vampirella
Danger Girl
Lady Death
Pitt
Maxx
Battle Chasers
