Yes, it's exactly what you thought it was when you read the title. This is the thread for Comic Book Covers featuring Floating Heads.
Do you like Floating Head Comic Covers? I like Floating Head Comic Covers!
Here's what I got so far:
West Coast Avengers #2
West Coast Avengers #16
West Coast Avengers #23 - Electric Floating Heads!
Well, that's a good start. Not that we're keeping score or anything. Why would anyone do that? It would be silly and absolutely crazy to keep score for something so trivial. Who's keeping score? I certainly am not.
SCORE
Howie (MoonKnight1) - 3
Hall of Heroes Quote of the Week
Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny - C.S. Lewis

Also, this one is my personal favorite. It's the first comic book I ever purchased and I still have it.

Funny. I had never heard about the Floating Heads expression until two weekends ago when I set up to sell at a local toy show. Some guy pulled out some comics I had for sale and was all "floating heads!!". Now Howie's started a thread about it. How long has this been a thing?

Oh yes, Floating Head Covers have been around for a number of Comic Book Ages.
The origin of them hasn't been tracked back to the beginning as of yet but we have our best people on it. During the Lee-Kirby Epoch there was a plethora of Floating Head Covers and FHC sightings continue into the Modern Era.

Thanks for asking!
That is actually what is popularly referred to as a "Mug Shot" cover. The commonality of the Mug Shot cover is the generic Head in list view and the characters name underneath. The difference between the two is that the Floating Head covers usually show the heads reacting to whatever else is happening on the cover while the Mug Shot covers just show the basic depiction of the character regardless of what they are witnessing.

This has to be everyone's favorite floating head cover... though maybe it should be a floating face cover!

I am not now nor would I ever advocate for keeping score for something such as this.

Interesting how his left black "shoe" is placed and looks in relation to him and her face. Just an observation, subtle no?

I got one!
And by the way--why does the Thing have a full on beard and mustache? My brother was big into the Thing and Fantastic Four, and I sure don't remember this being a thing. Thing. Heh heh.

Yes! An excellent cover and a rare sighting of a Bearded Thing Floating Head.
