Hell, All!

This is the first topic in what I hope will be a regular feature: "What's Your Top 5?"

As this is a comic site obviously most of these will be comic book related but I will also drop some random oddness in here for you now and then. Like, What's your Top 5 colors? If the answer is anything other than Red, Burgundy, Scarlet, Crimson and Vermilion then you are weird and icky. Big Grin

You might ask yourself, "Self, what exactly does Top 5 mean? Is it my five favorite or the five most popular or the one less than half a dozen that are used too much/used not enough/underappreciated/overused?". Well, I'm here to tell you that the answer is, "Yes".

The cool thing is, you don't even have to rank them #1 through #5 (unless you want to and that's perfectly fine) all you have to do is list them.

So here goes, the first topic will be...................

My Top Five Comic Book Characters

Moon Knight

Well, duh! Tongue I've always liked this guy for some reason. Not sure what drew me to him, maybe it was the outfit or maybe it was my like of supernatural kind of stuff but always looked out for his appearances. I always found the multiple personality thing interesting. I can certainly empathize.

Badger

OK, so maybe multiple personality disorder is my thing but The Badger is also in my Top 5. I know exactly why I liked this guy, he is a very interesting character and the stories are nicely plotted, humorous and thoughtful. Loves animals, has excellent kung-fu, plus, he calls everyone Larry.

Grendel

To be fair, Grendel is not actually a single character but many incarnations? avatars? variants? of a character. The first one, Hunter Rose, was kind of like an anti-Batman - rich socialite by day, dark vigilante at night. But he was a beautiful criminal. Then Christine Spar with her tragic rise and fall, Brian Li-Sung, Orion Assante...the list goes on and now Grendel Prime. Just amazing concept.

Animal Man

Buddy Baker has got some pretty cool powers. Very versatile and mind boggling powerful to be able to take on the characteristics of basically any living being. "The Coyote Gospel" in Animal Man #5 is easily one of the best stories I have ever read, comic book or otherwise.

The Tick

How can you not love The Tick? He is mighty! Nigh invulnerable! Has the ability to sniff the stench of evil and smack it in the nose with the newspaper of justice! Spoon!

So hard to pick just 5! I'd have to say:

Hunter Rose (Grendel)
Hellboy
Jesus (Walking Dead)
Forever Carlyle (Lazarus)
Erica Slaughter (Something is Killing the Children)
