Fun Read, Hard to Look At

This book was a fun read, but the art was a struggle for me. Hammerhead was tougher than ever, and just about kills Spider-Man which makes for a pretty exciting fight scene. I could almost feel the pain Spidey was going though as he battled his old arch nemesis.

Joe Kelly did a great job with this story. It was exciting, and it kept me wanting more all the way to the end. But Chris Bachalo's weird over exaggerated facial expressions were just way too much for me. I got used to it toward the end of the story, but it still messed with my head here and there.

Amazing Spider-Man has had some very, very good stories since Brand New Day, and this is a keeper. I believe it is the first 2 issue story arc since BND, and it was fun. I gave this a higher rating than the previous book as the art work did grow on me a bit. Just my personal opinion. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Joe Kelly is one of the unsung writers in the industry - other companies consider him a 'filler' writer, but I think he's pretty far out!
