Girl Power

As far as Annuals go, this was actually not bad. It had its "little Annual twist" feel to it, but it was also completely relevant to current continuity.

Bendis was in his glory, with all of the short back and forth dialogue. It was witty, and conversationalist in style, but also easy to follow and like always, gives the characters a real natural feeling.

Of course, the "Girls Come to the Rescue" story has been done a million times, but one more time never hurts. And as weird as it is to say, I was glad to see Clint Barton captured and tortured by Osborn. He is a hot headed loudmouth, who never makes the right deciscion. I can't say that I am too happy about Jessica Jones' decision. I rather liked the fact that she just followed Luke around and was content raising her new family.

Of course there was the nice suprise on the final page which sets up SEIGE. All in all, this was a fun read. Aside from the art which was a little stiff and had some perspective problems (Mike Mayhew) it is a great addition to the New Avengers collection.
