I wasn't 100% sure I wanted to pick up this book because I run hot and cold on Paul Pope's art. Glad I did though. There's lots of little bits in here for the moderate Batman fan to love and the overall story is an engaging read. Sure, setting the Batman lore in 2037 (100 years after his first appearance in Detective) and saying "The Bat-Man of Gotham City" has been around for a century is pretty Elseworld standard material, but it's well done. And, thankfully, there's only a couple times when I find Pope's art a bit jarring. Nice book for Bat fans.
