Luke Lieberman proves himself an extremely capable Red Sonja writer with this great issue where Queen Sonja returns to her early teenage years after her parents die and she is raped and before the Goddess delivers her blessing and makes of Sonja a warrior huntress.
Parrillo’s cover art is as magnificent as always when dealing with Red Sonja and Mel Rubi’s interior art work is top notch. There is an organic feel to his paintings. They would be superb on a wall mount.
There is a feel of a western at the end of this issue, with Sonja at a bar and the stranger capturing her arm as she attempts to lift the stranger’s valuables. An exciting adventure is guaranteed for us in the next issue of Red Sonja. Stay tune…
